What? The Seder is a traditional, communal dinner where the story of the Israelites exodus from Egyptian slavery is retold and food plays a central role in the storytelling. This is the oldest holiday that Jewish people have celebrated for over 3,000 years. Christians now join in as Jesus reinterpreted the meal telling the story of their past salvation to be fulfilled in his own death and resurrection for our current salvation. It was completely intentional that Jesus' death occurred as Jews were celebrating the Passover. As the Israelites were instructed to place the blood of a lamb without blemish on their doorposts so the angel of death would pass over their house, so Jesus' blood on the cross serves as the blood on the doorpost of the universe.
