We love kids! During your children’s time at Council Tree Kids, they will learn about Jesus, meet friends, and experience God, all while having fun in a safe and clean environment. Council Tree Kids is here to partner with families as we help kids grow in faith and character in a setting created just for them. Just as the adult worship service has been designed specifically for you, so has this time been created just for your child. We want to make this the best part of your child’s week, as well as your own.
We recognize the greatest influence in your child's life is you and that what happens at home is more important than what happens at church. Therefore, we are committed to being a good partner and providing tools to help you teach and train your children.
We are so excited to welcome your family! When you arrive, you will see a "New Family Check-In" desk straight back from the front door. We will check your kids in safely with a profile linked to your telephone number. If there are any issues, you will be contacted via text during the service. You and your child will also have a unique, matching safety stickers that you must present in order to pick up your child.
We have infant and toddler care throughout the service. We invite pre-schoolers and elementary age kids to worship with their parents for the first portion of the service. After community announcements, we will invite the children up to the front of the sanctuary for a children's prayer. The children will then be invited to an age appropriate, engaging and fun Sunday school experience.
You are welcome to join your child if it would be helpful for them to be acclimated. You are only invited to interact with your child if you have not filled out a volunteer application and passed our safety screening.
We can't wait to worship with you and your family.
In a safe and clean environment, we introduce our youngest children to the God who made them, loves them and wants to be their friend.
Our Infant Nursery (birth – 18 months) is one of the most unique places in the church. Between changing diapers, rocking, snacking and playing, there are small windows of opportunity to teach these little ones about the love of God.
Our goal is simple: We want each child to feel loved and cared for while parents enjoy the worship gathering.
Mothers are welcome to use our nursing room, available next to the Babies’ classroom. A live audio feed of the weekend service can be heard here, so moms won’t miss a thing!
We can’t wait to meet you!
In the Toddler Nursery (18 – 35 months), each week is full of objects for toddlers to touch, fun and wiggly activities to get them moving, and real life situations to which they can relate.
Toddlers will begin to discover that God loves them and Jesus wants to be their friends forever.
Child-size toilets are available as well as changing facilities. Trained volunteers will assist with these needs.
We think the Bible is exciting, worship can be fun and good leaders care. Your preschooler will discover how God’s Message fits into their life. They will learn how talk to God, and they will find friendships that last.
Preschoolers are invited to worship with their parents for the first portion of the service. After we bless the children in the main service, we invite them to their own preschool room for an age appropriate Bible lesson, play time, and crafts.
Child-size toilets are available in both rooms as well as changing facilities. Trained volunteers will assist with these needs.
What to Bring
When your child is in our care, please bring a well-labeled diaper bag with the following items:
Change of clothes
Bottles (ready to serve)
Pacifier, blanket (if your child uses one)
Stories, songs, crafts, and other creative mediums will be used to share God’s love and Word with our youngest children. In the infant class, we use intentional music and manipulatives in the room to communicate Biblical truths and scripture.
Health & Safety Policies
We realize that it seems some children have a runny nose from October through May, but for the well being of all of our children and staff, we ask you not to bring your child to the nursery if they've shown any of the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:
Green/yellow discharge from the nose
Rash anywhere on the body
All of our classrooms and nurseries are cleaned thoroughly and disinfected a minimum of once a week and wiped down after each use.
Children will be checked and changed if necessary at least once every two hours. Please inform the staff of any specific things to your child we should know in regards to diaper changing and potty training.
In case of an emergency evacuation, all children will be taken out the nearest exit. Parents can pick their children up from their teachers on the lawn across the street (Oakridge Drive) in front of the Ace Hardware rear entrance.
Please do not bring in any outside food. We will provide healthy snacks for your child to eat. Please make the staff aware of any allergies your child may have.
