Join us Sunday July 28th at 9am.
We will have our Sunday morning worship experience at the pavilion.
This will be an intergenerational, hands-on, learning experience focusing on communion. On the night before his death, Jesus met with his disciples in the upper room and served them the bread and the cup, beginning the practice of communion. On the Thursday before Easter we will come together to sing, pray, gather around tables for interactive learning, and receive communion.
Join us the 1st Monday of every month at 7pm
Night Song is a Monday evening event at Council Tree that fosters meditation and contemplation, providing a refuge from the stress and frantic pace of daily lives.
Through music, Night Song is purposefully intended to be an experience that differs dramatically from daily life. It is open to all and does not include creeds, sermons, or participatory elements. Simply sit still and let the music enfold you.
WHAT’S YOUR CULTURAL IQ?
Culture can bring people together and has the power to divide us. The more we understand our own culture and others, the better we can pursue our vision to grow into an ever broader Kingdom culture here at Council tree. Let’s grow together at our Cultural Competence workshop hosted by our denomination’s Fil Nesta. Saturday, March 30th from 8:30am-12:30pm. $20 Includes lunch
Join us as we start the season of Lent together and receive the mark of ashes.
Lent is a season of spiritual discipline, cleansing, and fasting, and occurs in the forty days, excluding Sundays, before Easter. The ceremony reminds us that we should begin the Lenten season in a humble spirit. In Biblical times, the faithful would fast, wear sackcloth, and sit in dust and ashes. While we no longer wear sackcloth or sit in dust and ashes, the customs of fasting and putting ashes on our foreheads, as a sign of mourning and repentance, have survived to this day. In the Bible, a mark on the forehead is a symbol of a person's ownership. By having our foreheads marked with the sign of the cross, we have an outward sign that says, “We belong to Jesus, who died on a cross.” Come, March 6th at 7:00 pm, and "remember that you are dust and to dust you shall return."
